Having COVID-19

2–3 minutes

Now I have experienced having COVID 19. I just want to write about this experience.

Please remember this is my experience and I have other health conditions alongside COVID 19.

I started off with feeling sick, coughing and unable to keep food and drink down. This made me very tired and I lost my appetite.  I drank a lot of juice to try and help with my sore throat, but even this was too heavy for my stomach and was soon being brought up. This lasted a couple of days (I think I have lost a couple of pounds lol) and by day 3 I managed to eat something and keep it down, but feeling sick continued.

With being in bed for most of the time. This caused a lot of joint pains. I did try to walk around the house, but I was scared to pass out or be sick from the motions.

At this point I was starting to run out of veg for my guinea pigs and rabbit but being unable to leave the house I had to rely on other people to go veg shopping. I didn’t want my pets to not receive a proper diet due to me being ill.

The one thing that had affected me the most was the coughing. I have controlled asthma but this time it wasn’t. The coughing caused me chest pain and I needed more inhaler medication. I kept an eye on my Peak flow as advised as normal. This was still healthy and in the green zone, but my chest felt very heavy and uncomfortable.

I found sleeping very hard due to coughing which was caused by lying down. I had to use many pillows to keep my head up. I slept as and when I could. This messed up my sleeping pattern.

To stop the spread I had to stay in my room and contact people through the internet. I felt so lonely. I normally go to support groups during the week, this week I couldn’t due to being ill. This felt odd as the week before we had to have meetings with other group members via Google Meet as they had COVID 19 that week.

I have spent my free time trying to improve my island on Animal Crossing and coming up with new blog ideas. I really wanted to get ahead of blogs as I will have a busy few weeks, but due to being tired I have not managed this, so there will be less blogs than planned over the next week or so.

I have many ideas for future blogs which I hope you enjoy reading and grow a more understanding of neurodiversity and autism.
