If you haven’t heard of the Streamer Showdown. It is a bunch of FM (Football Manager) Twitch streamers that get together and battle to become the champion for that season.
I have watched the last 5-6 showdowns and I always look forward to it. I always get excited to hear who is going to be in the showdown. I have learned so much from all the streamers who take part in the whole showdown including the Lowdown which is where they are like Match of the Day presenters that talk about the players, teams and managers for that season. It can also be quite funny and can have a laugh with Nerdphonic as the host. There are 9 competitors in total each season. It is always nice to see new competitors joining and seeing how they manage their team and try to win the league. Each season has different rules of which players you can choose from and what budget they will have.
The Streamer Showdown happens over 3 days in total and happens once a month. One stream during the week is the Lowdown and the teams get drafted, then over Saturday and Sunday is where the action happens. Saturday is when they play matches against each other to see who wins the league and which two are in the play off. Sunday is one of the best days as you find out who wins the play off and continues with the showdown, also find out who is the champion of all champions for that season.
I do try and watch a few streamers together at the same time, but it does get very noisy and sensory overload. Watching the FM Streamer Showdown has become a part of my routine which helps me to focus and maintain my anxiety. It is important for autistic people to have routine and structure. On the odd occasion it doesn’t happen that month for whatever reason I do feel lost, but I know it is out of my hands and I look forward to the next one.
The next FM Streamer Showdown season of FM22 is on 23rd Feb and 26-27th Feb.
