2022 hasn’t started the way I wanted to on the photography side. It is nearly March and I haven’t used my DSLR camera once. Something always comes up like weather or getting a cold.
Photography has been a big part of my life since I was little and I took it up as a serious hobby in 2005 which has helped me with my mental health and getting out and about. I have done many online courses to improve my photography skills and the only things I believe are holding me back are the equipment and my self-esteem/confidence.
I have many ideas I would like to do and places to go. Edinburgh, Scotland is an amazing place for their buildings and castle. I have been a few times over the years and would like to go more.
I mainly take pictures of flowers, wildlife and buildings. I really like going to zoos to take pictures of their animals. Flamingo Land is one of my favourite places to go, alongside Chester Zoo, but sadly Chester Zoo is hours away and I do not drive.
One of the hardest things about the pandemic lockdowns was not being able to go out with my camera and explore, so I just sat in my garden taking pictures of the local resident birds which if you give them food, they become very friendly. I had made friends with a few robins and blackbirds who just liked to watch me and eat.
This year I would like to travel more and expand my skills and portfolio. Most of my portfolio is made up of football, wildlife, my pets and buildings.
